WHAT A magical prodigy and a magic battery love each other very much
WHEN after the whole battery reveal and also after Mat starts learning about what Damon's magic really is
WHERE places
WHY because
Damon was out early, the magisters who oversaw his magical development shooing him out after one too many explosion had occurred...accidentally. He knew how they didn't want to deal with some punk who thought he knew everything he needed to know about magic and preyed upon their misconceptions. He was well aware of his faults and weaknesses, despite the show he put on, and decided to take advantage of them to at least get out of training. Today wasn't really important in the grand scheme of things. No birthdays to celebrate, no holidays nor important events. All he wanted to do was go see Mat in a situation that wasn't his magical duties and instead get to be with him in a more intimate manner.
Heading to where he could usually find Mat during the day, he came up behind him and gave him a hug. They were usually together lately, but on official business as the future archmage and his bodyguard battery. All he wanted was to be best friends and lovers at the moment, thus the ending class with explosions so that he could meet up with said best friend slash lover and have his wicked way with him.
"If it isn't my favorite person in the whole wide world," he said sweetly against his hair, breathing in his scent deeply. "Would you like to come with me so we can spend some proper time together, maybe fill you up with my magic?"

"I figured you'd like the warning ahead of time," he replied with a shrug. Damon was aware of how much it hurt him and he wanted to make sure that his best friend was either prepared or was able to have the chance to bow out beforehand. He gave Mat a wide grin and nuzzled his cheek affectionately. "Hey, you know I'm down for fun. Want to head home so we can have time to ourselves with no interruptions?"
